Do you play weddings?

Yes. Weddings and receptions are on the list along with bars, restaurants, private parties, and benefits. Tell us the date and what the room is like and we'll write back.

What's the difference between the duo, the trio, and the quartet?

The duo is Marc Puricelli on piano and David Kreimer on vocals and saxophone. Add a bass player and it's a trio. Add a drummer too and it's a quartet.

The book is the same either way. What changes is how much room the band takes up and how much sound it makes, so pick by the size of the space you're filling. If you're not sure, say so on the form and we'll talk it through.

What kind of music do you play, and how many tunes do you know?

Jazz standards, bossa novas and sambas, blues and soul, some Monk and Mingus, and some of our own. The current list runs 59 tunes and the band's own document calls that partial.

It reads as a jazz list because it is one, but there's enough soul and blues on it to keep a room that didn't come for jazz.

Can we ask for a song that isn't on your list?

Ask. The list is partial and the odds are decent it's already in the book. Put the title in the message field on the form and we'll tell you straight whether we've got it.

Where do you play?

Mostly Durham, Chapel Hill, Carrboro, and Hillsborough. Marc lives in Carrboro and David lives in Durham, so those are the rooms we can get to on a weeknight.

Every room we've played is listed on the calendar page, along with whatever's booked next. If you're further out than that, ask anyway.

How do we book you?

Through the form on this page. There's no public phone number and no public email address for the band, so the form is the whole thing. It comes straight to us and we read all of it.

Can we hear you before we book you?

Yes. The recordings on the music page play right here in the browser. Nothing downloads and nothing is embedded from another service.

The live tracks are room tapes from Lapin Bleu in May 2025, not studio takes, and they sound like it. That's on purpose. You should know what you're getting before you put us in your room.

What should we tell you when we write?

Whatever you've got. These are the details that let us answer with a yes or a no instead of five more questions:

• The date, or the range you're working with.
• Start time, and how long you want music.
• Whether there's a piano in the room, and what shape it's in.
• Indoors or outdoors, and whether there's power near the stage.
• Whether you want the duo, or bass and drums too.
