Marc Puricelli fell and broke his arm. He'll be out of action for a couple of months while it heals.
The gigs are still on. Until Marc's back, The Jazz Posse is a trio: David Kreimer on vocals and saxophone, Ben Brimer on piano, and Ed Browne on double bass. Next up is Cosmic Cantina on Thursday, September 24, then Lapin Bleu on Saturday, October 10. Times and addresses are on the calendar.
Ben Brimer, piano
Ben Brimer started young, in rock bands first and then in jazz ensembles as a teenager. He moved to New Orleans for university and played regular jazz gigs in the French Quarter alongside Ian Orr, Spencer Mullen, Jackson Schaefer, and Noah Houk. He plays around the Research Triangle now, solo and with several jazz groups.
Ed Browne, double bass
Ed Browne grew up in New Zealand, where he played with a lot of local artists and was a member of the Queen City Big Band and the New Zealand Youth Jazz Orchestra. He moved to the United States in 1998, and while he lived in New Jersey he played bass in the Princeton University Orchestra and with the klezmer band The Klez Dispensers. He's lived in Chapel Hill since 2016 and plays the jazz bars around Chapel Hill and Durham regularly.
